HISTORY

Founding

The R.A. Hubbard Center was established in 2023 and is housed in the location where the previous historical school resides.  The vision extends the legacy of R.A. Hubbard High School beyond its academic walls. We honor the contributions of educators, students, and community leaders who shaped generations.

Historical Significance

The original school was founded in the early 1940s by Mr. R.A. Hubbard and played a pivotal role in African American education during segregation. Its legacy lives on through the center, which continues to impact lives through education, cultural enrichment, and community engagement.

Community Roots

Our center is deeply intertwined with North Courtland’s history. We celebrate the resilience, creativity, and unity of our community members.

Municipality

The North Courtland Municipal Complex Houses the Hubbard Center.
